Meet our Students

PEP's first graduates: Jennier, Greysi and Candy

You probably remember the excitement and satisfaction you felt when you graduated from high school or university. You had accomplished a tremendous goal and, while you were closing one chapter of your life, you were opening a door to a whole new adventure.

Three of our students--Candy, Greysi, and Jennifer--had those same feelings when they became the first PEP scholarship students to graduate from Colegio 1270 San Juan el Bautista in December 2009.

When you meet these three young women, several characteristics stand out. They are smart and have achieved the grades in school that demonstrate their strong academic capabilities. When they speak to teachers and parents, they are confident, poised, and articulate. They are optimistic and have a wonderfully positive outlook on life. Most importantly, they are thankful for the generosity of PEP and the help they have received.

In March 2010, with the assistance of PEP and by virtue of your gracious donations, these young women will attend a new school, the Academia pre-universitaria ADUNI near Huaycán, which will prepare them to take the entrance exam for university. They plan to go on to university to study nursing and accounting. With continued hard work they will enter the University of San Marcos or the University of La Unión within the next year. By entering university, they will become the first members of each of their families to achieve this milestone.

We are so proud of our students and look forward to their continued success! They have become role models at the school and we hope they will inspire others to succeed as well.
